FEDERAL MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE IN SOUTH SUDAN TO EMPOWER COMMERCIAL FARMING

The federal minister of agriculture arrived today in Juba to find a way of developing farmers and help small farmers from subsistence agriculture to more profitable agriculture that can be able to feed the people of south Sudan.

Talking to SCR news, Abdel Halim Al Mutawafi said training, supplies of input and extension of services will be part of the empowerment given to the farmers.

Mr. Halim affirmed that south Sudan has all the resources to enrich its agriculture adding that his ministry would transfer good technology and machinery for the people to benefit from the agricultural resources.

Mr. Halim travelled today afternoon to Yambio in Western Equatoria State to survey the agricultural system there.

He is expected to visit more four states in the south.
