In his remarks during the second reading of the supplementary budget, Professor Barri Wanji, chairperson of Economy, development and Finance Committee said the money would cater for the renovation of the main south Sudan radio premises and construction of a fence to south Sudan TV and radio as part of the referendum preparedness
The report of the supplementary budget added that southern Sudan has only one TV studio and one small out-dated radio studio with out-dated equipment that does not fit in with the modern digital information and technology communication.
The report noted that if anything goes wrong with the two national media houses, south Sudan would be out air because there are no alternative stations.
