The Judiciary system in southern Sudan gradually became better organized after the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement CPA in 2005.
Addressing the press this morning in Juba, John Luke Joke GoSS minister of Legal Affairs and Constitutional Development revealed that his mission in the ministry is to promote the rule of law, good governance and constitutionalism across the region.
Mr. Jok called for public power not to be exercise arbitrarily but through due process of law.
He added that his ministry would guarantee the rights of people and ensure that nobody is above the law.
Mr. Jok explained that customary laws are to be integrated into the legal system in order to frame good legal procedures into different societies of southern Sudan.
