Wonduruba Catholic Assistant Priest Parish on Wednesday appeals deserting residents to have strong faith to avoid killing themselves with rumours.
Fr Ashok tells CRN in a telephone interview that residents left Wonduruba after hearing rumours of killing and houses burning from some sources without listening to church leaders’ messages, warning that such rumours kill people.
Fr Cruz Valent Ashok discloses that over 400 residents returned from their bush hideouts on Tuesday, but others on Wednesday continue fleeing to Lainya town.
He adds that shops in Wonduruba were broken into and looted and that SPLA left guarding the market for barrack because their presence was posing threat to civilians.
Fr Valent urges Wonduruba residents to believe in God’s protection, trust government forces as their security providers and persevere to access food, medicine and protect property.
The Assistant Parish Priest reveals that at least two people were feared dead and one reportedly wounded; sustaining bullet in the stomach.
