Thieves on Tuesday night stole one hundred and seventy thousand South Sudan Pounds or SSP after killing a policeman guarding Eden Bank Magwi branch in Eastern Equatoria State.
The Bank cashier Felix Lasu told Radio Emmanuel on phone that the thieves parted with 159, 720 SSP and six hundred US Dollars.
He suspects the burglars hit the police guard using a hummer before twisting his neck and cut the padlock to access the chest.
Mr Lasu discloses that nobody detected the incidence at night until morning when neighbours found the door of the bank opened while the police officer dead.
He says the thieves did not take the gun of the deceased police officer.
The Bank cashier says the matter was report to Magwi County Police and Eden Bank head office in Juba.
He says an investigation team from Juba office of Eden Bank was on the way to investigate the incident.
Mr Lasu notes that thieves earlier made an attempt in May this year to break into the bank but did not succeed.
Radio Emmanuel made repeated phone calls to Magwi County Commissioner Ben Kingston in attempts to get comments on the matter but he failed to receive.
