Juba Orphanage Home Director on Friday cried out lack of milk, infants’ caretakers, transport means for taking sick orphans to hospital and staff transport facilities.
Angelo Kenyi Samuel made the outcry during Korean Sports Mission to South Sudan visit where he enumerated lack of money for reunifying mature orphans to their relatives and funds for sending them to universities or colleges after completing Secondary education.
He appealed for intervention from well wishers to construct orphanage fence to deter rampant robbers from intrusion to the orphans.
National Deputy Youth Sports Minister Josephine Napwon Cosmas recommended an establishment of National Orphans’ Day in South Sudan for recognition and fund raising.
She appealed for collective responsibility to help orphans, expressing surprise that the national government is not supporting Juba Orphanage Home hosting future leaders.
Ms Napwon said the National Council of Ministers ought to one day discuss issues concerning orphans to improve their living conditions.
The Deputy Minister pledged to contribute utensils for the orphanage.
