Western Bahr El Ghazal launch food security program

Western Bahr El Ghazal Agriculture Ministry in collaboration with HARD Organization through South Sudan Rural Development Program or SORUDEV launched food security project at Achong Chong Payam of Jur River County to help improve food production in rural areas.
 
HARD Program Manager Evans Owino said the aim was to benefit five thousand poor rural farmers to improve productivity and income for three years in River Jur, Wau and Raja Counties, Radio Voice of Hope reported.
 
HARD Executive Director Cleto Kunda stressed the need of both qualitative and quantitative development of farmers.
 
He said when farmers buy inputs, they would be able to sustain them and improve the food productivity.
 
Jur River County Commissioner John Arop advised citizens to abandon the bad traditional farming method and turn into the modern one.
 
European Union funded South Sudan Rural Development Program implemented by HARD Organization in Western Bahr El Ghazal State.
