Western Equatoria Governor Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro launched the fourth state agriculture show under the theme: ‘Food sufficiency and nutrition are the sure ways towards food security’ on Wednesday in Yambio.
Organizing Committee Chairperson Clement Faustino Mokorondere said every year the state organises the show to foster competition among counties and bring farmers together to learn and improve their techniques to increase food production, Radio Anisa reported.
He mentioned that the theme was chosen because of some malnourished children in the society despite the fact that the state is food sufficient.
Mr Faustino invited everybody to witness the fourth agriculture show and see what the state can do in terms of food production.
He confirmed that all the necessary arrangements for the show were completed and that participants from all counties arrived in Yambio on Tuesday evening.
Mr Faustino revealed that the best performing counties are expected to be awarded some prizes at the end.
