Eastern Equatoria Finance Minister on Wednesday tabled before the State Legislative Assembly two hundred and twenty-seven million South Sudanese Pounds 2014/2015 fiscal year budget.
Sam Felix Makuja who presented the budget explained that 68 percent accounts for salaries, only 17 percent for expenditure and 15 percent as operating cost, Radio Emmanuel reported.
He added that conditional transfers account for 60 percent, 4.2 percent from local collection, 7.3 percent from shared tax and 28.5 percent from block grants.
Minister Makuja said 123 million Pounds to be transferred to counties accounts for 54 percent of the overall budget and that the council of ministers allocated three million Pounds from the block grant as equalization grants.
The minister explained that the public administration and rule of law takes 40.7 percent, accountability and economic functions 27. 7 percent, infrastructure takes four percent.
He added that natural resources and rural development was allocated two percent, health sector takes 7.7 percent, education 16.5 percent and social and humanitarian affairs takes 1.4 percent of the fiscal year budget.
Eastern Equatoria Assembly Speaker Tobiolo Alberio Oromo handed the budget to the Specialized Committee of Economic Affairs for scrutiny.
