South Sudan Women Platform for Peace on Wednesday petitioned President Salva Kiir Mayardit and SPLM/A in Opposition Dr Riek Machar Teny again vowing to advocate for peace until achieved.
Women Platform Regional Director Angelina Daniel told journalists in Juba that they were unhappy because of deaf ears to their appeal for peace and recent disappointment by President Kiir’s failure to attend to them.
She expressed hope that through the media, the rival leaders would listen to their letters and act.
Platform Member Angelina Boi read the letter to President Kiir, reflecting on horrible unbearable deaths, calling for full stop to war to allow children go back to school and Internally Displaced Persons or IDPs return home to stay with dignity.
Women Platform Member Dudu Sebit read the letter to Dr Machar, denouncing more losses of valuable lives and misery of children who are the future of the nation.
She read out that they do not want to witness atrocities for which they would be judged in the future.
The women vowed to storm the warring leaders’ premises if not listened to through the press.
