39 Girls Guide to attend East African camp in Uganda

27 Girls Guide from Central Equatoria and 12 from other states on Wednesday left Juba for Kampala, Uganda to participate in the East African camp from August 8 to 14 under the theme: ‘Peace for growth and development by girls and young women’.
 
Central Equatoria Girls Guide Commissioner Marceline Joseph told Bakhita Radio that the state is attending such an African regional big event with many girls for the first time.
 
She said they joint East Africa in July after serving under Arab region in the last decade.
 
Ms Joseph said they would exchange experiences with their East African counterparts in the camp.
 
A participant Gladys James described the event as an opportunity for South Sudan Girls Guide to partake in East Africa after long time camping in the Arab region.
 
She said attending the camp in the African region is important because it enables young South Sudan’s girls to learn new knowledge to teach others.
 
Central Equatoria Minister for Youths and Sports David Lokonga urged the young girls to demonstrate discipline, acquire new skills in the camp and bring them home.
 
He appreciated the charitable of Girls Guide in the country since the mid December crisis, wishing the team a safe journey to Uganda and back home.
