A charcoal dealer in Rumbek, Lakes State survived death from a mahogany tree that mysteriously resurrected while he was cutting its branches.

Mangar Agok Dier told Good News Radio on Wednesday that he was cutting down branches for charcoal from a middle-aged mahogany tree allegedly uprooted by rain-storm a month ago when it suddenly stood back.

He explained that he cut down one branch the first day and when he returned the following day to cut the remaining branches, the tree carried him up into the air, bended and threw him down before re-positioning itself into its original spot.

Mr Agok who attributed his survival to God, reported that he sacrificed a ram and chicken under the resurrected tree as ritual to appease it and thank God for saving him from death.

Two years ago, a palm tree at Mabor Ngap area in Rumbek mysteriously resurrected months after it was uprooted by bull-dozer during a road survey.
