The President of the Republic on Wednesday while addressing Martyrs’ Day 9th anniversary in Juba, pledged to restore peace in the country through the negotiations in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
President Salva Kiir Mayardit told citizens that he already told the negotiating team leaving for Addis Ababa to return home with peace, Bakhita Radio reported.
Central Equatoria Governor Clement Wani Konga said sustainable peace is the only reward to South Sudanese to calm down the martyrs and make widows, orphans and veterans happy.
The celebration that took place at Dr John Garang mausoleum ended in the evening with lighting of candles.
