He called for peace and development, urging citizens to celebrate the day in peace.
Another teacher Jacob Lukadi Zachariah appealed to citizens to unite and work together to explore ways of dealing with the challenges facing the country.
He discouraged South Sudanese from identifying themselves according to regions.
The teachers made the statements during the launch of a cleaning campaign ahead of the third independence anniversary celebrations in Ye River County.
