Yei Catholic Bishop urged citizens and stakeholders to expose irresponsible rumours emanating from irresponsible top officials or underground to avoid becoming reality.
Bishop Erkulano Lodu Tombe in his homily on Sunday called on stakeholders to expose unproved information in the state or nation to avoid rumour-mongers from influencing people to go into shooting guns, Easter Radio reported.
Bishop Lodu lamented that it was sad to hear irresponsible rumours from high offices leaked to soldiers and citizens to fight while the country is still weeping the massive death of its citizens in Juba, Bor, Malakal, Bentiu and other parts of the country.
The Catholic prelate described the instigators of conflict between Equatorians and Dinka in the country as ‘blood thirsty persons’ who want to cause suspicion and quarrels, terming them ‘spoilers of the nation’.
He suspected that the rumours originated from national traitors abroad.
Bishop Lodu called on South Sudanese to be peace loving people and not to rely on rumours.
