Teachers in Yei River County on Thursday complained over salaries delay as the major obstacle to their work.
Yei Teacher Professional Union Deputy Chairperson Rene Alanzi Talaguma said most teachers are of grade 14 earning, 250 South Sudanese Pounds of which half is not paid, Easter Radio reported.
He said the state government did not give reason to county authorities for the delay.
Mr Alanzi complained of empty promises of the Education Minister to add housing, chalk and dressing allowances to teachers.
He criticized unnecessary transfer of teachers without considering accommodation, distance and many other difficulties.
Mr Alanzi raised the complaint during a Teachers’ Professional Union meeting in Yei River County.
