Western Equatoria Youth Union on Thursday announced publicly that they support federal system of governance in South Sudan.
The Union Chairperson Simple John Francis Bakik said the youths back up the statement of Governor Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro delivered during the reopening of the State Legislative Assembly supporting federalism, Anisa Radio reported.
He believed that federalism would put an end to bloodshed and foster developmental activities in South Sudan.
Mr John encouraged all youths to stand behind their leaders and support the move for federalism.
The Union’s Public Relations Officer Tabitha Emmanuel said federal system would bring harmony and that power would be shared equally by all communities in the country.
She argued that the system would not divide South Sudan nor bring tribalism but create equal participation in the government.
Ms Emmanuel requested everybody to support federalism, expressing confidence that people would not regret in the future.
She defined federalism as the system of governance in which a written constitution divides power among subdivisions and both parties would have concerns over each ones point.
