The Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare is organizing for the country to join the continent and the world on Monday in celebrating the African Child Day under the theme: ‘A call for peace by children in South Sudan’.

The Ministry’s Child Welfare Officer Celina Peter said the day would be marked with peaceful procession, discussions with national parliamentarians and presentation from children about peace in the country.

She said the occasion aims to raise awareness of leaders on grave violations against children in South Sudan and generate their actions to stop the abuses.

Ms Peter said children and other participants will assemble at St Joseph’s Catholic Parish and march to Juba Grand Hotel where the ceremony takes place.
