United Democratic Front or UDF Chairperson said they were stopped from boarding plane to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for peace talks on Wednesday.

Peter Abdelrahman Sule said after all immigration process was made at Juba International Airport, the party members were singled out to wait in the VIP room in vain.

He added that the act shows lack of government truthfulness on May 9 agreements which recognized inclusive peace process.

Mr Abdelrahman described the stoppage as a sad episode, happening over official invitation by the Inter-governmental Authority on Development or IGAD.

The Chairperson said he was surprised by an official who later claimed that it was not government security who denied UDF travel to Addis Ababa, but that immigration officers decided to stop them from boarding for lack of travel documents.

Mr Abdelrahman believes that the party’s useful contribution for lasting peace in the country has been denied.

He appealed to IGAD, African Union and other international bodies to ensure inclusivity as agreed in previous sessions to breed the most suitable system of governance.
