Eastern Equatoria Deputy Governor called on SPLM/A in opposition to abandon violence and return home and re-register as party members.
Jerome Gama Surur made the call on Monday while opening SPLM membership registration exercise in Torit, Emmanuel Radio reported.
He called on opposition leaders to accept peaceful resolution of the ongoing conflict and register to participate in democratic election.
The Deputy Governor said South Sudan suffered a lot and does no longer need any bloodshed.
Mr Surur said it was no longer time for war, but reconstruction of the country.
State Acting SPLM Chairperson Felix Okany wondered how people would forget the party over night with all its achievements.
He urged SPLM members to turn up in large numbers to register to strengthen the party.
