Western Bahr El Ghazal Health Minister called for intensive routine polio vaccination exercise at all heath centres to ensure that no child is left out.

Isaac Cleto while launching a four-day polio vaccination campaign at Kwarjina Payam of River Jur County said all infants should be vaccinated at health centers instead of waiting for the general campaign at homes, Voice of Hope reported.

He explained that most mothers after delivery do not mind to complete the 12 dozes of vaccination in five years.

World Health Organization or WHO EPI National Focal Point Joy Santuke advised community leaders to encourage mothers to allow vaccinators reach their children.

She said 30 villages in Kwarjina Payam were not vaccinated after they targeted to cover all villages.

Jur River County Medical Director Christopher Paul said 30 villages were not reached because of April insecurity in Mapel.

The polio vaccination was launched at random at all counties in Wau targeting 135 thousand children from zero to five years old.
