A newly elected chairperson of Kajo-Keji County Legislative Council sworn in with 35 councilors on Wednesday said his leadership would address overdrinking and leisure abuse including youths’ playing cards and Pool in morning hours.

Wolyan Patrick Lagu told CRN on Thursday that the council would sit to design mechanisms of addressing unnecessary leisure which does not impress him at all.

The chairperson revealed that he was once taken up by alcoholic overdrinking, but thank God that he is now saved to serve in leadership position that took him by surprise.

Mr Patrick urged the nation to pray for effective democratic leadership in governance.

He appealed to fellow citizens to embrace peace and reconciliation at all levels as an enabling environment for development.

The councilor urged entire civil population to support ongoing peace initiatives, alerting that without peace the nation would never develop.

Mr Patrick told masses to be ready for challenges lying ahead of the nation and to see leaders with two eyes, considering positive and negative aspects.
