Emeritus Bishop of Torit Diocese travelled to Rome on Thursday to attend the canonization of John Paul II and John 23rd on Sunday and that he would ask the saints to intercede for God’s miracle to solve South Sudan crisis.
Bishop Paride Taban believes South Sudan crisis now only needs God’s miracle for permanent peace to be achieved, Bakhita Radio reported.
He added that he took the initiative to attend the occasion because it was John Paul II who consecrated him as a bishop in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.
Bishop Taban said Easter should remind South Sudanese to repent and forgive one another for all the past and present offences against one another.
He said leaders committed great sin before God and all must confess.
Bishop Taban added that all must stop killing and ask for God’s forgiveness.
The Emeritus peace prized bishop said after attending the canonization of the two Saints, he would proceed to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to finalize the peace agreement between the government and David Yau Yau.
