Yei Education Committee chairperson in the Municipal Legislative Council on Wednesday called on teachers to file a case against people who harass or intimidate them.
Amule Philip Sebit raised the concern upon hearing that teachers were harassed in a public dialogue.
He said harassment is an offence, urging teachers to immediately report any case to police.
Philip observed that some individuals in the country thought the laws could not apply to them.
Yei County Secondary Schools’ Inspector Emmanuel Sebit Peter regretted the incident of harassment against colleagues in the noble profession.
He urged school administrations to involve parents in decision making to avoid some entangling matters.
