Armed robberies increase in Rumbek

Residents of Rumbek Municipality complained of constant attacks and robberies at night by unidentified gunmen and accuse police of not conducting night patrols.
 
An anonymous person told Good News Radio that six armed men stopped him at a gunpoint around Malualbab area and robbed him of his phone and a wallet.
 
Rumbek Centre Police Colonel William Wuom Ayul on Tuesday said citizens did not report to the Police cases of armed robberies and intimidations.
 
He said the Rumbek Centre Patrolling Police force was always ready to rush to any scene.
 
Residents of Rumbek said it became risky to move at night while others said there were cases of armed men creeping around compounds at night forcing people to remain in their bedrooms.
