Lakes State government temporarily relocated its administration to Yirol West County to monitor movement of forces loyal to Riek Machar reportedly crossing from Unity State.
Government Spokesperson Dut Makoi Kuok Tuesday told Good News Radio in a telephone interview that Governor Matur Chut Dhuol and senior officials set up camp in Yirol to protect civilians in Awerial, Yirol West and Yirol East Counties.
The accused opposition forces of attacking and looting civilians’ property in the three Counties.

He said the forces earlier attacked Wat but SPLA forces on ground dispersed them.
The government spokesperson said Lakes State respects the ceasefire but was ready to protect civilians from attacks anytime.
The Spokesperson said the opposition forces were allowed free passage into Unity State provided they do not attack civilians.
He added that IDPs from Bor were well protected.
