South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission or RRC on Thursday held a one-day workshop to educate people on early warning and disaster preparedness.
National Expert on Early Warning and Disaster Preparedness Nyele Mabe James said the aim of the workshop was to establish early warning system to prevent losing lives and property.
Jonglei State Relief Rehabilitation Director Gabriel Deng Jak said the workshop was very important because it highlighted key factors in the emergency response.
Mr Deng said the government should fulfil all requirements for early warnings.
He said the government should look beyond borders to mitigate disasters especially floods.
The workshop was jointly organized by Relief Rehabilitation Commission in and the Early Warnings and Food Security Analysis Unit.
