The President of the Republic called on investors to invest now in South Sudan, not tomorrow.
Salva Kiir Mayardit said South Sudan is endowed with many resources, ready and open for business and investment opportunities, Bakhita Radio reported.
He urged investors to venture and take business risk by joining business opportunities when there are still many chances.
President Kiir said the country has fertile land, forests, water, minerals and petroleum resources which need joint efforts.
The President said investment in South Sudan should be a win-win game for both national and international investors.
He added that the government would continue to support dialogue with foreign investors to facilitate and accelerate investment in key sectors of the economy.
Finance Minister Aggrey Tisa Sabuni confirmed that over 500 real investors from around the globe and business leaders from 55 countries are attending the conference.
He said among the participants, 40 foreign companies have already submitted their business proposals to start business in the country.
Mr Sabuni thanked the investors for showing their interest to invest in South Sudan.
The head of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan UNMISS Hilde F Johnson said the investors needed to work on microeconomic stability, legal framework and abide by the rule of law to strengthen justice sector, transparency and accountability.
