International bodies including World Bank, Netherlands, United Nations and United States, pledged to support the development of the new country through investment.
Addressing the first South Sudan Investment Conference in Juba on Wednesday, World Bank representative Seif Omer said the Bank stood ready to continue supporting South Sudan to convert its efforts into development outcomes.
Netherlands Ambassador C.T. van Baar said his country would continue to support South Sudan to facilitate private sector development.
United Nations Secretary General’s Representative Hilde F Johnson said the UN is ready to help and back the new deal between the government and investors to realize development in South Sudan.
Special Envoy to South Sudan and Sudan Donald Booth said the US looks forward to seeing South Sudanese products in the markets to earn chard currency for national development.
Central Equatoria State Deputy Governor Manasseh Lomole Waya expressed confidence that the conference would immensely contribute to the development of state and South Sudan in general.
He earlier welcomed all the guests and wished them a nice stay in Juba.
