The Government of South Sudan and UN agencies were urged to build a reformatory for the young offenders to take them out of adult prisons.
Director for Gender in the South Sudan Prison Mary Akuuch Panyang said there were 13 children aged between one and half and 6 years old in the prison for women in Juba, Bakhita Radio reported.
She said the Catholic Church was taking care of two children.
Mama Panyang added that reformatory school should be built to keep juveniles away from the influence of adult inmates.
The officer said there were 114 women in the female jail in Juba.
Senior Inspector for Press and Communication in the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs in Central Equatoria State Sarah Peter Modi said she had seen many difficulties in the prison.
The two officials were speaking during a visit to the women prison organised by Central Equatoria State Ministry of Gender and Social Development and the Gender Based Violence Working Group.
The group donated items worth more than 3,000 South Sudanese Pounds to the female inmates.
