The Catholic diocese of Yei welcomed a number of female and male missionaries from India who will take pastoral care of Mundri mission in Western Equatoria State.
Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe introduced the missionaries at Saturday morning mass in Yei’s Christ the King cathedral, Easter Radio reported.
He thanked the quick response of the Missionaries of Mary Immaculate and Daughters of Mary Immaculate to the diocese’s request.
Bishop Lodu told the congregation that the Indian missionaries were taking care of Mundri, a mission that covers Mundri East and West and Mvolo counties.
Missionaries of Mary Immaculate delegation superior Albert Amalaraz said two more priests would come and join Fr David Kulandaisamy in Mundri.
Fr Amalaraz added that both missionary groups would have some discussion with the bishop in regard to their mission.
The Missionaries of Mary Immaculate and Daughters of Mary Immaculate, two young Indian congregations, are already working in Juba and Wau.
