Political and economic analysts supported the parliament decision to revoke the central bank governor decision to devalue South Sudanese Pound exchange rate at 4.50 against one US dollar.

Francis Bok, a political analyst supported the decision of the parliament to summon Central Bank Governor Cornelio Koryom to change his decision, Bakhita Radio reported.

He said the parliament took the right decision to ask Mr Koryom to reverse his action.

Mr Bok said the decision of the Bank’s Governor has negative economic consequences because it was not well calculated and MPs were not consulted.

Gabriel Garang, an economic analyst thanked the parliament for revoking the decision of the Central Bank Governor.

He said it was not the right time to devalue national money.

Mr Garang said Central Bank needed to inform the parliament about any change in the policy.

Central Bank Governor and Finance Minister should appear in the National Legislative Assembly on Monday to explain why the exchange rate reforms should be introduced after the national budget was approved.
