The African Capacity Building Foundation through the South Sudan Capacity Building Project trained 65 senior civil servants on public financial management, good governance, budget preparation, auditing and accounts.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Jacinto Lee, a national consultant at the Ministry of Labour and Public Service, said the training aimed at equipping civil servants with professional skills in financial management.
Mr Lee said the government was keen to practically train civil servants at home than training them abroad.
Undersecretary for Public Service and Human Resource Development Angeth Acol de Dut said the government was keen to train all senior civil servants and enable them perform their duties more efficiently.
She said the government would appraise the performance of its workers to find out whether their training improved service delivery.
South Sudan Capacity Building Project Coordinator Peter Juma said his organization would train civil servants on corporate governance, strategic planning, policy making and public finance.
