The National Minister of Health announced that Wau should have a medical training institute operating by 2014.
Riak Gai Kok visited Wau on Saturday to inspect the obstetric fistula operation campaign and follow up the construction of a maternity complex at Wau Teaching Hospital, Voice of Hope reported.
Dr Gai told the press that his visit was intended to consult the state government on the medical training institute opening by next year.
The announcement follows the closure of Medical and Veterinary faculties at Bar El Ghazal University.
Dr Gai also revealed plans to deploy 80 medical personnel across the country.
He called on the public to report fistula patients for operation.
The fistula obstetric campaign is taking place in Wau, Juba and Rumbek.
