Kumbur Payam residents in Heiban County of Nuba Mountains expressed their happiness after the long awaited rain finally came on Thursday evening.
Many citizens complained that their crops dried up due to lack of rain.
Kodi Siliman, a resident in Gidel, told Voice of Peace that he was glad to receive the gift of rain.
He asked local farmers not to get discouraged because of the delay of rain but to continue planting crops for food.
Few days ago hundreds of people in Kumbur payam were praying for rain and God heard their prayers.
Nuba Mountains’ population of South Kordofan depends greatly on rain to grow their food.
