Hundreds of citizens in Western Bah El-Ghazal marched in support of the presidential decision to sack the vice-president and dissolve the cabinet and suspend SPLM general secretary.
A long procession made up of mostly civil servants and school children walked from the SPLM State Secretariat to the State Council of Ministers hailing the President for having taken the courageous decision, Voice of Hope reported.
Addressing the gathering at State Council of Ministers, Governor Rizik Zachariah Hassan said the decision taken by President Salva Kiir Mayardit will enable the country save its limited resources since there will be fewer ministries.
The governor told the gathering that suspended SPLM secretary general Pagan Amum was responsible for dividing the party.
He also pointed that former Vice president was behind Wau December’s violence which left more than 20 people dead and others imprisoned.
President Kiir on Tuesday issued a number of decrees and orders removing his vice and dissolving the and reducing the number of Ministries from 29 to 18.
The new cabinet is expected to be formed soon as the national government is being run by Secretary General Abdoun Agwa and ministerial undersecretaries.
