Malakal commemorates second independence anniversary

Thousands of citizens turned out in Malakal, Upper Nile, to celebrate two years of South Sudan’s independence.
 
The celebration started with a procession by national army and other organized forces, citizens, pupils and students, Voice of Love reported. 
 
State Governor Simon Kun Puoc congratulated the people of South Sudan and Upper Nile for their independence.
 
He accused Sudan of trying to make South Sudan a failed country by creating conflicts in the border areas and disputes over oil issues.
 
The governor urged citizens to embark in farming activities to fight food insecurity in South Sudan.
 
Governor Kun announced that Wau’s power station will operate within one week.
 
National artist Emmanuel Kembe and traditional dancers coloured the occasion.
