A Muslim Sheikh criticized the final report by the legal committee that reviewed assets and the financial position of the Western Bahr El Ghazal State Islamic Council.

Alteib Mawien described the report as not inclusive, Voice of Hope reported.

He said the committee did not single out any official on mismanagement of Council properties.

Mr Akech called for more transparency on the management of the Muslim Community affairs for the benefits of the citizens and to realize its goals and objectives.

He accused the Council of selling properties of Muslim community of Greater Bahr El Ghazal.

Last October, a committee was formed to review and investigate the Council’s incumbent officials for selling properties and assets of the Muslim community in Wau.

The committee found 20 shops on rent in Wau main market and many other properties of Muslim community as of November 2011.

The Council’s legislative wing is expected to come up with a final ruling based on the disputed report.
