A civil society group said progress in the rehabilitation of Yei-Lasu Road was irregular and slow pointing out that the two-month contract nears the end and the works are well behind schedule.
Yei Civil Society Organization Forum chairperson Nicholas Sebit said the company rehabilitated about five miles but the remaining 23 miles need urgent works and the company is left only with 12 days, Radio Easter reported. He called on the communities along the rehabilitated area to evaluate the work done and share on the progress.
Mr Sebit added that inadequate implementation and little money were the main setbacks for the rehabilitation works.
He explained that the people served by the Yei-Lasu road contributed an amount of money collected by chiefs.
Mr Sebit urged the government to intervene and pressurize the company to speed up the rehabilitation works.
