HIV AIDS represents a big challenge to the army that needs healthy soldiers to discharge their duties.
HIV AIDS Commission Chairperson Esterina Novello told the participants at the end of the four-day workshop on Thursday that the country is fighting a war with HIV, AIDS the invisible enemy, Bakhita Radio reported.Brigadier General Dau Aleer urged the participants put into practice what they learned and pass the information to other soldiers in order to change their lifestyles.
Both officials were speaking at the end of a workshop organised by the SPLA HIV AIDS Secretariat and Centre for Conflict Resolution South Africa and Namibia on capacity building, peace keeping, conflict resolution, HIV AIDS, human rights and gender for the military.
