South Sudan’s Minister of Finance and Planning, Athian Ding Athian, and the Governor of the Bank of South Sudan, Dr. Addis Ababa Othow, have met with the Saudi Fund for Development Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Sultan Al-Marshad, to explore potential investment opportunities in South Sudan.
The meeting forms part of the government’s efforts to attract foreign investment, strengthen economic cooperation, and expand development partnerships with international financial institutions and investors.
During the engagement, the South Sudanese delegation invited Mr. Al-Marshad to undertake a working visit to South Sudan to facilitate further discussions on potential investment opportunities for Saudi investors across various economic sectors.
The proposed visit is expected to provide an opportunity for both sides to explore areas of mutual interest and discuss possible avenues for cooperation to support South Sudan’s economic development.
Held on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group Annual Meetings in Bangkok, the meeting explored ways to enhance trade, tourism, agriculture, transport connectivity, and investment while strengthening economic ties among EAC member states.
