Terekeka Authorities Arrest Suspected Criminal Accused of Two Years of Violence

The Terekeka County Government in Central Equatoria State has announced the arrest of a suspected notorious criminal accused of terrorizing residents for nearly two years.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Office of the Commissioner confirmed that security forces successfully apprehended Jelle Lo Lobuyu, along with his alleged bodyguard, Morji Akeyo.

According to the statement, the suspect is accused of involvement in a series of criminal activities, including looting, attacks, and the killing of civilians in different parts of Terekeka County.

“The long-sought criminal who has spent nearly two years terrorizing, tormenting, looting, and killing innocent citizens with impunity is finally in government custody,” the statement said.

County authorities described the arrest as a breakthrough in ongoing efforts to restore peace and security across the area.

Terekeka County Commissioner, Hon. Dr. Emmanuel Loku Lodu, reaffirmed the local government’s commitment to protecting residents and ensuring lasting stability in the county.

“Terekeka County must move forward. To achieve lasting progress, we must unite for the development of Terekeka County, Central Equatoria State, and South Sudan as a whole,” the statement added.

The county government also expressed appreciation to the Governor of Central Equatoria State for his support and guidance, which officials said contributed to the success of the operation.

Authorities further thanked residents for their continued cooperation, prayers, and support in promoting peace, security, and development in the county.
