Catholic University of South Sudan (CUoSS) is set to graduate 811 students during its 11th graduation ceremony scheduled for April 24, 2026, at its main campus in Juba.
The ceremony, which will commence at 8:00 a.m. in Juba Na Bari, will mark a significant milestone for the institution as it awards degrees to the 13th and 14th cohorts of graduates across various academic disciplines.
Established in 2008, the university has steadily expanded its academic offerings and student population. Since graduating its first cohort of 22 students with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics in 2012, CUoSS has produced a total of 3,426 graduates.
This year’s graduating class comes from multiple faculties, including Economics and Business Administration, Education, Agriculture, and the Institute of Justice and Peace. The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration continues to offer a wide range of undergraduate programmes such as Economics, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Procurement and Logistics, and Accounting and Finance, alongside diploma courses.
The Faculty of Education provides specialisations in English and Literature, Mathematics, Business Studies, and Christian Religious Education, while the Faculty of Agriculture offers degrees in Agricultural Sciences. The Institute of Justice and Peace, established in 2017, focuses on Peace and Conflict Studies.
The university has also continued to expand its academic portfolio, with the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, launched in 2021, expected to graduate its first cohort next year. Meanwhile, the Faculty of Law, newly introduced this year, has already enrolled its inaugural group of students under a weekend programme.
Beyond its main campus in Juba, CUoSS operates additional campuses in Wau, Rumbek, Yambio, and Malakal, extending its reach across South Sudan.
The upcoming graduation ceremony will be presided over by the Chancellor, Cardinal Stephen Ameyu, who also serves as President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of South Sudan and Sudan.
Ahead of the graduation, a Thanksgiving Mass will be held on April 23 at 9:30 a.m., bringing together graduates, families, and university staff in celebration of the academic achievements.
Meanwhile, the university has announced that applications for the upcoming academic year are already underway, with prospective students able to access application forms through the institution’s official website.
The graduation underscores CUoSS’s continued role in contributing to higher education and professional development in South Sudan, as it prepares another cohort of graduates to enter the workforce.
