Authorities in Kapoeta South County have confirmed that two people were allegedly killed by suspected Toposa criminals believed to have come from Lokuamoru.

A lawmaker representing Budi County in the Transitional National Legislative Assembly, Oreste Lopara Simon confirmed that two people including a police officer were killed in the Lokuamoru area of Kapoeta South County

He said a gun belonging to the police officer was taken by the suspected criminals while a rider escaped narrowly as he pretended dead on the scene, he affirmed that it is not the first of its kind for such incidences to happen in the area.

“There are three people traveling by motorcycle they are coming from Kapoeta they were going to Ngauro just on the way to a certain place called Lokuamoru. They were stopped by some criminals they shot the two guys then the driver pretended to fall down then this guy as he came there he took the gun, the gun is meant for CID, the one who was killed is one of the CID police officers than one of the passengers is just a civilian.”

The lawmaker called on state and county authorities to apprehend the suspects to face the law

He further requested the state government to deploy security forces to hotspot areas to curb the senseless killing

“the government must really look for these people so that they can be brought to justice, the commissioner is there, the members of parliament are there and the chiefs are there, and how did these people not be apprehended, I think these people should be apprehended and brought to justice.”

The most important also I want to add is that we need some forces to be deployed there in that hotspot so that if there is anything it can be respond to soon, I this is the important thing is the deployment of the forces in those particular areas”
