The Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba, Stephen Cardinal Ameyu Martin has revealed that it is the role of government and church leaders to decontaminate people from tribalism.

His Eminence Stephen Cardinal Ameyu Martin said that it is the task of the leaders in the government and those who are leaders in the church to unpolluted people of tribalism because our people have been infected by the sickness called tribalism and we are the ones to disinfect them from this tribalism.

‘‘We need to be serious about our own roles, each one of us especially, those who are the leaders in the government and those who are leaders in the church,  it is a difficult task because our people have been infected by the sickness called tribalism and we are the one to disinfect them from this tribalism’’

Cardinal Stephen said that church leaders and government leaders have to disinfect people from tribalism and regionalism because it is only that way we can build a strong South Sudan, free of tribalism, free of regionalism so that we can be one people of God.

‘‘We as Church leaders and as government leaders have to disinfect our people from tribalism and regionalism because it is only  through that can we build a strong South Sudan free of tribalism free of regionalism so that we can be one people of God.’’

The Catholic Leader in South Sudan and Sudan made these remarks to the faithful on Sunday in Saint Mary Help of Christians Cathedral during the launching of the Eucharistic Congress and the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the Establishment of the Catholic Hierarchy of the church in Sudan and South Sudan.
