Parish Priest of Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral Reverend Leonsyio Omina Okworomoi urged Christians to believe in eternal life after death.
He advising Christians to always commit themselves in doing church activities so as to rise with Jesus at the end of time.
He added that Jesus is always the way, the truth and the life.
‘According to the book of Maccabees the Lord of the whole world raises his people to eternal life and this particular because of keeping his status of risen tax as positive meaning because of Christ who rose from the dead Paul says for me to live is Christ and to die is a gain”, the priest noted.
‘This statement is surely an indicator that if we die that with Christ we will live with him through baptism the Christians dies with Christ in order to live a new life in him the readings of today assure us that life continues but doesn’t end so therefore death is not an end to our responsibility but it is like preparation of one to be judge that he can respond or attend to what they had not done accordance to Gods will’, he explained.
According to Fr Omina, a baptized Christian will not die, but will have new life in Christ.
The parish priest quoted the second reading from the second letter of Thessalonians that encourages Christians to do good work, more so by rendering good services to others.
‘The second reading which is taken from the second letter to the Thessalonians there we are given the excitation of encouragement and strength in good work that those people in Thessalonians were doing so today we have been reading this text to apply to us’, he stressed.
‘So Paul also asks prayer that they may spread the Gospel quickly everywhere so he would like that the Lord may be known to whole the people so the message he has actually is that the evangelization has to continues so then he also prays he wants them also the faithful to pray that they may be deliver from evil works’, Fr Omina explained.
He said St Paul in the bible is encouraging Christians to always pray for easy spread of the evangelization of Christ in to the world.
The Parish Priest made the remark to Radio Emmanuel during Special Program Reflection on Sunday.
