Resolving outstanding issues within the agreed one hundred days before the formation of transitional government in the country, father Anthony Ubeo Gilo of the Catholic Diocese of Torit urges parties to the peace agreement.
He says addressing key outstanding issues is crucial to bring lasting peace in the country.
‘You South Sudanese, you are given chance for one to look unto him/herself and also look at what one does and look forward what will happen after three months, good or bad, it is now up on us because this peace, is not only limited to one person but it is for us all and am sure South Sudanese have hope, if there was no hope we would have fail’, the priest appeals.
The Catholic priest thanks South Sudanese for being patient and calm amidst crisis.
He advises the faithful to have faith for total change to prevail in the country.
‘If there was no hope, we would have failed by this time, most of us would have been in some countries, but we have hope, though in crisis and in war we are able to live in our country because God is with us. This is not a gift from mankind but from God, because God does not leave his own children to suffer and die no, God is there with us, and in our faith and hope we prosper, in Jesus we get everlasting life’,
The priest was talking to the congregation at Our Lady of Holy Rosary Parish in Torit on Sunday.
