Governor launches trees plantation in Rumbek town

Western Lakes State Governor Mahmud Solomon Deer while launching tree plantation in Rumbek town on Tuesday, called on citizens to join him in planting trees along the streets of the capital city.
 
He says the initiative aims at improving the outlook of the town and also to have trees producing fruits, so that people do not import fruits from far places, Radio Good News reports. 
 
Governor Mahmud says planting fruit-trees can also be source of income to the government.
 
He stresses that another purpose of planting trees in the town is to change the environmental look.
 
Solomon urges the public to replace immediately after cutting down one, because environment is very important and it is the citizen’s responsibility to keep the environment clean.
 
Deer encourages people to produce fruits through planting trees because fruits are very helpful to our lives.
 
The speaker spoke to Good News Radio on Tuesday during launching of trees plantation in Rumbek.
