OXFAM GB on Tuesday started a training of forty-seven stakeholders on public financial management and budget monitoring in Western Lakes state Rumbek.
The training brought together civil society organizations, legislative members, women groups and government institutions in relevant ministries of finance, education and health.
. Mandela Nelson, OXFAM programme manager Rumbek branch said the training on public finance management and budget monitoring aims at building the capacity of institutions.
The three days training involves state government ministries and Civil Society Organizations in Lakes states to enhance improved capacity financial management and budget monitoring, he adds.
Manager Nelson cited that this training will help in effective service delivery to citizens of the country.
Malish John Peter Chief Executive Officer for the Institute of Social Policy and Research said that participants will be schooled on the public financial management Act, 2011.
He said stakeholders will also learn the summary of chapter four on Economic, Resource and financial management of the revitalized peace agreement on the resolution of the conflict.
‘The training will empower all stakeholders to read, make research before they speak out on people’s rights’, Peter adds.
