The Acting Chairman of the Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission JMEC is concerned over the ongoing fighting in hot spots around Wau, Bentiu and Yei.

Lt. General Augostino Njoroge says CTSAMVM has still not have access to the main areas of the country that were blocked during the time of clashes between SSPDF and SPLA/M-IO forces.

He adds that with the establishment of the Joint Defense Board, the commanders in those areas will be held accountable for not allowing CTSAMVM to work there.

General Njoroge cites that it is a challenge for all, and the peace agreement is supposed to guarantee the safety and dignity of women, children and everyone.

He adds that gender parity needs to be prioritized by the parties in all the agreements and its institutions.

The official made the remarks on Wednesday during the second plenary meeting for the Reconstituted JMEC.
